Hi everyone and welcome to my blog. I actually created it right after I became a vegan but this is my first post. :)
I decided to finally post because some of my friends have asked me about the smoothie feast that I have begun and I thought I would share it here for all of you. I'm on day 13 and have lost 12 lbs! As many of you know, I just had a baby girl, Addison Grace, a little over two months ago. With this pregnancy came a whole lot of weight gain! Also, my hormones were out of control! And so I started my Green Smoothie Feast Journey:

Ok so here it goes. :) I was on a mission to find something that would
cleanse my body and at the same time help me lose the baby weight. Last
pregnancy I did the master Cleanse for 40 days and lost the weight that
way. But I didn't do the cleanse until I was done nursing at 8 months.
This time around since we have a cruise coming up in 2 months I needed
something similar but not as intense and with more calorie intake.
Juice feasting came to mind. Many people have done a long juice feast and have actually rid their bodies of all kinds of diseases including cancer and so I thought that would be great but since I'm nursing I still want to drink all the fiber as well. That brought me to this Green Smoothie Feast. I've only seen a couple of people do this and the longest was 14 days. (Juice feasts are done anywhere from 1-125+ days). So I thought I would try it.
Basically I drink about 120 oz of smoothie a day. Usually it's 4 smoothies about 30 oz each because I don't have time with a newborn to spread them out more. But the great thing is you don't starve yourself. You drink as many as you want through the day. I calculated mine are about 1200 calories in one day. Don't forget to keep hydrated with lots of pure water! So important!
Basic Recipe:
1 or 2 bananas (the riper the better)
1 - 2 cups of pineapple
2 cups spinach
Ice
Water (enough to blend and liquefy)
That's a basic smoothie. You can exchange any of the components but I would definitely leave at least one banana if you don't want too much of the veggie taste. Bananas are really overpowering. I personally think spinach and kale and the best greens to use. I've also added some cucumber and a few other greens but the greener the veggie the better. Spinach will blend better than kale because it's a gentle green.
Also, I invested in a high performance blender that will pretty much devour anything I put in it. You don't necessarily need that but definitely a decent one. You don't want to have chunks in your drink. :)
I think I've pretty much covered everything. I am on day 13. Will try to do at least 30. Maybe I can reach 60 ;)
