"Sea salt" VS Himalayan Salt

Health tip for today:

"Sea salt" VS Himalayan Salt

I, like many of you, thought that sea salt was a healthy alternative to regular table salt. What?! It isn't? No, sea salt is pretty much the exact same thing as regular table salt. I know, I was stunned too. Lately I have started to use Himalayan salt. Look it up!

It has all the essential 84 nutrients found in our bodies and promotes so much goodness! Including:

1. Regulating the water content throughout your body.
2. Promoting a healthy pH balance in your cells, particularly your brain cells.
3. Promoting blood sugar health and helping to reduce the signs of aging.
4. Assisting in the generation of hydroelectric energy in cells in your body.
5. Absorption of food particles through your intestinal tract.
6. Supporting respiratory health.
7. Promoting sinus health.
8. Prevention of muscle cramps.
9. Promoting bone strength.
10. Regulating your sleep -- it naturally promotes sleep.
11. Supporting your libido.
12. Promoting vascular health.
13. In conjunction with water it is actually essential for the regulation of your blood pressure.

PLUS MORE!

Sea salt only has 3 nutrients and causes, not so awesome, things in our body.

For every gram of sodium chloride that your body cannot get rid of, your body uses 23 times the amount of cell water to neutralize the salt. Eating common table salt causes excess fluid in your body tissue, which can contribute to:

Unsightly cellulite
Rheumatism, arthritis and gout
Kidney and gall bladder stones

Not only these, but because of all of the processing, there are many for issues it can cause.

Yikes!!

Where can you find this incredible salt? Well, your local health food store of course or online. :)

I hope this has been as much of an eye-opener to you as it has to me!

❤, Maggie.

My Green Smoothie Feast Journey

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog.  I actually created it right after I became a vegan but this is my first post.  :)

I decided to finally post because some of my friends have asked me about the smoothie feast that I have begun and I thought I would share it here for all of you. I'm on day 13 and have lost 12 lbs! As many of you know, I just had a baby girl, Addison Grace, a little over two months ago.  With this pregnancy came a whole lot of weight gain! Also, my hormones were out of control! And so I started my Green Smoothie Feast Journey:

One of the many yummy green smoothies!

Ok so here it goes. :) I was on a mission to find something that would cleanse my body and at the same time help me lose the baby weight. Last pregnancy I did the master Cleanse for 40 days and lost the weight that way. But I didn't do the cleanse until I was done nursing at 8 months. This time around since we have a cruise coming up in 2 months I needed something similar but not as intense and with more calorie intake.

Juice feasting came to mind. Many people have done a long juice feast and have actually rid their bodies of all kinds of diseases including cancer and so I thought that would be great but since I'm nursing I still want to drink all the fiber as well. That brought me to this Green Smoothie Feast. I've only seen a couple of people do this and the longest was 14 days. (Juice feasts are done anywhere from 1-125+ days). So I thought I would try it.

Basically I drink about 120 oz of smoothie a day. Usually it's 4 smoothies about 30 oz each because I don't have time with a newborn to spread them out more. But the great thing is you don't starve yourself. You drink as many as you want through the day. I calculated mine are about 1200 calories in one day.
Don't forget to keep hydrated with lots of pure water! So important!

Basic Recipe:

1 or 2 bananas (the riper the better)

1 - 2 cups of pineapple
2 cups spinach
Ice
Water (enough to blend and liquefy)

That's a basic smoothie. You can exchange any of the components but I would definitely leave at least one banana if you don't want too much of the veggie taste. Bananas are really overpowering. I personally think spinach and kale and the best greens to use. I've also added some cucumber and a few other greens but the greener the veggie the better. Spinach will blend better than kale because it's a gentle green.

Also, I invested in a high performance blender that will pretty much devour anything I put in it. You don't necessarily need that but definitely a decent one. You don't want to have chunks in your drink. :)

I think I've pretty much covered everything. I am on day 13. Will try to do at least 30. Maybe I can reach 60 ;)

If any of you have any questions, please let me know.  THANKS!
